Playing around a bit with an in browser drawing app called penccil sketch amplifier. It’s a fairly simple app, but it has a fun and interesting set of brushes. Something to make a quick scribble with.. Some of the doodles I made reminded me a bit of some of the scores coil used for their ANS record, and perhaps a little of some of Xenakis’ graphical scores as well, though obviously nowhere near as mathematically deep. Since I was already thinking in terms of audio with these drawings, I decided to try rendering them as audio using Photosounder, a tool for turning images into audio using a technique similar the ANS synth. Here’s a couple of the more interesting examples:
